Transitioning Fashion: In Between Seasons!

Have you been into a store recently? Thinking its a new season you may find something cute, flirty and bright, but it was the total opposite walking out with nothing?

On Friday, I went to H&M to find a nice dress for my cousins wedding this upcoming weekend and was shocked I found  nothing. It's because the seasons are changing and retail is changing as well. During the transitioning phases, its best to pick up classic pieces that will last for a long time. For example, neutral color tees, undergarments, blue denim jeans, jackets etc. The transitioning phase is when your money is worth its value because you can get more for what you buy. The in between stages prepares you for summer and winter. So the next time you go shopping remember if you are shopping within the months of Jan-March and August- October to find classic pieces that will last you more than just one month. Now when I shop I am mindful of what I will be spending my money on and  I come out happy feeling refreshed.

  1. I was also in H & M this weekend and picked up many things that were going out of season. Most people dont prepare for the next season and that is a mistake. Take advantage of the major sales. Some places like Wet Seal and Forever 21 have 60% off on the out going seasons items.

  2. H&M is very hit or miss sometimes. The season changes in the malls are excited because of the sales, but also are very frustrating because its just so much going on. I think you gave good advice about taking this time to get timeless pieces that will always be useful.

  3. That was a very helpful tip. Right now the weather is very cold for it to be spring so you cant buy the pieces you want. sticking to classic pieces will last longer in this weather.
