Robyn Fenty

I have many celebrity fashionistas but one particular celebrity that stands out the most is Rihanna. Her stlye inspires so many ladies around the world, young and old. She dresses in trends of all era's in the 1990's and 2000's. You can always find Rihanna dressed and styled to a T! She wears trends from Betsey Johnson, Deener, River Island, Matiko Shoes, Laura Dahl and Zara, just to name a few. Her style is quite chic yet edgy with a touch of sexy. Rihanna inspires me to be different with fashion trends and try new things and look, feel confident in what I like to wear. With this being the last post, I would like to leave you with this...alll fashion ends in excess. Each new fashion statement must compete with other designers striving to attract the attention of all people around the world. In my opinion RIhanna does attract attention whether good or bad. Fashion is made to become unfashionable. It will forever be long lived as long as we shall walk the face of this earth!

What, and What Not to wear to an Interview

For most of us our declared major is Public Relations. In this particular industry it is ultimately our responsibility to look and act the part. A PR professional should always maintain a professional image so that the clients you represent are sure that you are the perfect representative for their brand, company or organization. I thought this would be a good topic to discuss this week because most of us have a year or two until we are actually out in the real world pursuing our careers. What do you think is appropriate to wear to an interview in this profession? Don't have any idea? Well, I have provided a few examples of what to wear and what not to wear to an interview, what particular fashion pieces will help you look the part and land your dream job successfully.

What to wear:

Women: A pair of comfortable black heels and flats, a wrap dress, slacks, a pencil skirt, a blazer, a simple necklace, and a black or brown leather bag that fits your laptop.
Men: A pair of comfortable black or brown dress shoes, button down shirt, Blazer, tie/bow tie, cuff-links, slacks.
*Most appealing color to wear to an interview are hues of blues for both men and women*

What NOT to wear:

You always want to make a good impression when your seeking employment. These are just a few pictures of what not to wear to an interview.
Women: Never wear short dresses or skirts, plunging deep v-neck shirts, tight fitting jeans, pants etc that reveals a lot of skin, always keep it simple, clean and professional.
Men: Never arrive at an interview with sagging jeans below the waist, boots, explicit tees, or materialistic fashions. Although its nice to have those things, employers don't care how much money you have and if your rocking the latest Boss, Ralph Lauren, Solbiato etc. Show up casket sharp and ready to claim the job.
Hopefully this was helpful to all of us and Good Luck on your next interview!

The Importance of COLOR in fashion...

Do you pay attention to what colors you wear and the affect it has on your daily lives? Have you ever been in a situation when you were looking for a particular color to wear to an event, or just to have and couldn't find it? Well that's because color comes and goes like seasons. Color has an affect on everything. The way we respond to color is influenced by a mixture of biological, psychological, social and cultural factors. In my Intro to fashion design class, we discuss different colors and the emotions and symbols that are attached to them. Here are a few see below:

White: Pure/ Reborn

Symbols: Bride, Doves, Heaven, Peaceful Lifestlye

Wearing white keeps you cool and can make bright colors pop when worn together.

Black: Simple, Dark, Class

Symbols: Business, Authority, Dominance, Succeess

Wearing black absorbs light and is the most go-to color in fashion. Black can also make you look thinner, and slim. Another side of black can symbolize death, demonic, or death.

Blue: Calm, cool, collective

Symbols: Ocean, Summer

Blue is a popular color. Blue usually produces the opposite emotional response of the color red; peace of mind and tranquility.

**Fashion Tip: Wearing blue to job interviews shows potential employers your loyalty.**

Red: Intense, Attention Catcher

Symbols: Love, Sex, Fire, Hell

Red is simply the color that symbolizes passion and love. Wearing red will always draw attention to you because it catches the human eye. It's bright, vibrant, and sexy.

Yellow: Flirty, Cheerful, Happy

Symbols: Spring, Flowers, Sun

Yellow is said to be the most difficult color for the eye to process, it is an overpowering color. Yellow is yet a cheerful color, and has positivity connected with it: attracts positive attention, it puts you in a good mood and it's bold!

Brown: Calm, Addictive
